Peninsula Children's Auxiliary - Festival of Trees

The Peninsula Children’s Auxiliary (aka PCA) was started in 1963 by a group of committed and enthusiastic volunteers to raise funds to support the Peninsula Children’s Center, an organization in Palo Alto, California. This school helps families in our community with special needs children.  The Peninsula Children’s Center has evolved over the years into the organization now known as AchieveKids.   The Peninsula Children's Auxiliary is the proud recipient of The Association of Fundraising Professionals Philanthropic Organization Award in both 2000 and 2007.

Our Mission Statement

Peninsula Children's Auxiliary is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of educational programs provided by Achievekids, a school for the treatment of children and young adults who have complex and severe, developmental, emotional and behavioral problems, primarily through fund raising and donations from both corporate and private sources.

Since its founding in 1967, PCA has raised over $2 million for the AchieveKids programs.  The fundraising events have been large and small, including black tie events, children holiday parties, cocktail parties and luncheon-fashion shows.  In the latter years the primary event of the Festival of Trees has been a Christmas time luncheon with a fashion show. At this event there is always multiple silent auction items, donation drawings of fully decorated Christmas trees and a boutique where one can buy holiday gifts. The decorated and donated Christmas trees always have themes to them like "Holiday Hugs" tree that come with many extras attached to entice donors!
